Production Shift Supervisor
is responsible for leading a team of dedicated production personnel in the safe and efficient production of high-quality solar modules at our College Station factory. This role requires an individual who can work independently in a methodical environment using strong leadership and technical skills to drive a consistent operation of a high-volume automated manufacturing line in a safe manner. With a focus on continuous improvement processes, the Production Shift Supervisor will work to continually develop their team and drive quality and safety improvements.
Responsibilities
Supervises, coordinates and leads a team of production shift personnel to safely achieve the production targets
Monitors production operations and responds to hourly and daily product and process concerns
Collaborates with various teams in the troubleshooting of technical problems
Ensures employees are trained and qualified on production processes prior to working on line
Provides leadership by instilling team goals and objectives while fostering positive staff relationships
Coordinates with other departments on projects, targets and issues to achieve company goals
Maintains accurate production records and communicates results and issues to shift staff, support teams and management
Implements and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures to establish a positive environment
Establishes and maintains work standards for product costing and productivity to meet targets
Drives continuous improvement activities through LEAN manufacturing principles to improve overall efficiency and eliminate various forms of waste in production
Implements and enforces strict safety guidelines and company standards that foster a safe, constructive environment focusing on quality and efficiency
Communicates established goals for performance in ways that comply with company’s plans and vision
Organizes workflow and ensures that employees understand and are trained on their duties or delegated tasks
Monitors employee productivity and provides constructive feedback and coaching through regular reviews
Completes other duties and projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor degree
Demonstrated related production supervisor experience of 5-8 years in a high-volume environment
Experience with applications of Lean Manufacturing philosophies
Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
Able to work on assigned shift schedule
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, confidentially, diplomatically, and professionally always
Excellent time and project management skills
Attention to detail in all areas of work
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a strong knowledge of Quality control practices
Ability to learn a variety of job requirements, work in a fast paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsOutstanding organizational and leadership skills
Good knowledge of MS Office, and ERP systems
Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
Ability to communicate effectively in English
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs., work in a manufacturing environment, full-time onsite.
