Probation and Parole Officer District 19 (Part‑Time) Hourly: $22.74 per hour. Joining the Missouri Department of Corrections is more than a job; it is a calling. Responsibilities

Investigate offenders’ home, work, and social environments; collect, verify, and evaluate data; incorporate findings into reports and records; assess needs and risk levels to determine appropriate supervision strategies; submit reports to designated legal authorities.

Contact offenders in homes, workplaces, or confinement and counsel them on personal/adjustment problems; attend court to receive assignments and make reports.

Assist in vocational, educational, and social adjustment planning for assigned offenders; cooperate with public and private agencies and law enforcement; investigate violations; take appropriate action, including issuing warrants.

Prepare statistical reports; administer and observe breathalyzer/urinalysis testing; assist in special investigations, research projects and other activities; serve on committees and task forces; perform related work as assigned.

Possess a valid vehicle operator’s license and complete safety training, including defensive tactics; re‑qualify annually.

Qualifications

Four or more years of experience as a Probation and Parole Assistant, Correctional Officer, or Office Support Assistant, or an equivalent role within the Missouri Department of Corrections.

OR four or more years of vocational or paraprofessional experience in social services, probation and parole, corrections casework or custody, law enforcement, guidance or counseling, mental health, substance use, public or business administration, or a closely related field; AND possession of a valid vehicle operator’s license.

Earned college credit hours may substitute years of experience at a rate of 30 earned credit hours for one year.
