The HR Generalist is a key member of the Human Resources team, responsible for supporting all areas of HR including employee relations, legal and regulatory compliance, performance management, leave of absences, recruitment, onboarding, training, and policy administration.
This role requires a proactive professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, multitasking environment and demonstrates strong initiative in improving processes, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring full compliance with employment laws. The HR Generalist supports both employees and leadership while fostering a positive and inclusive culture.
Key Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned as needed)
Compliance: Ensure compliance with labor/employment laws, regulations, and internal policies to minimize risk. Participate in internal audits.
Leave of Absences: Coordinate employee leave requests (e.g., FMLA, personal, disability, ESTA), ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Employee Relations: Assist in managing team member relations by responding to questions, issues, or concerns. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations.
Onboarding: Coordinate and schedule new hire orientation, conduct orientation for all newly hired employees; collect new hire paperwork, complete I9s, and maintain records as needed.
Performance Management: Facilitate performance management activities, including coaching managers on effective feedback, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and development conversations.
HR Data Analytics: Responsible for maintaining data accuracy within HR systems and compiling data analytics on a monthly cadence.
Recruiting: Interviews and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Training: Track, document, and report on training participation and compliance using HRIS/LMS systems, maintaining accurate records for audits and regulatory purposes.
Immigration & Compliance: Partner with outside immigration counsel to support H‑1B, PERM, and other employment‑based immigration processes, ensuring timely document preparation and internal coordination.
Qualifications Education and Experience
Minimum 7 years of previous or related experience in the HR function
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
Knowledge of immigration and visa processes is strongly preferred
Preferred: HR professional capable of working independently with minimal supervision

Must have broad, extensive understanding of federal, state and local employment laws and practices
Must have the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) suite skills
Proficient in ADP or other HRIS systems strongly preferred
Working Conditions This position typically operates in an office environment.
Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
