Reporting to the Correctional Lieutenant II, this position provides supervision of subordinate officers and their assigned tasks and activities regarding the custody and welfare of male offenders in a Medium custody state correctional facility. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assigning lower-level custody staff to a particular area or post.
- Overseeing officer activities and performance and ensuring that the custody, security, and welfare of offenders is maintained.
- Arranging work schedules to ensure shift coverage, implementing operational procedures, and ensuring rules and regulations are followed according to policy. May serve as the Officer-in-Charge (OIC).
- Supervising offenders in restrictive housing.
- Conducting shift line-up, making shift assignments, and inspecting all personnel to determine if they are physically and mentally capable of assuming an assigned post.
- Completing, reviewing, and maintaining time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, performance evaluations, and administrative forms.
- Completing Incident Reports, Use of Force, Disciplinaries, and Grievances.**Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences*** Knowledge of facility operations* Knowledge of Prisons’ policy and procedures**Necessary Special Qualifications:**by the N.C.
