Project Engineer
Baton Rouge, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Project Engineer for a Direct Hire Opportunity.
Essential Duties:
Oversee capital projects from inception through completion within the water production and distribution system.
Set project management standards, establish processes, and implement tools to ensure successful project delivery.
Lead project planning, scheduling, and execution to meet design specifications, schedules, and financial objectives.
Respond to escalated project issues, identify solutions, and ensure project milestones are met.
Manage relationships with strategic partners and maintain clear communication across teams.
Analyze project metrics and propose operational improvements for future projects.
Supervise para-professional staff and make day-to-day decisions related to project management.
Provide guidance on project timelines, budget adherence, and team collaboration.
Participate in, and at times lead, utility design projects including pipelines, pump stations, and water storage facilities.
Requirements/Skills:
Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related engineering field. P.E. license required.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in project management, specifically within the utility or transportation sector.
Knowledge of construction processes and operations, particularly within utilities.
Experience with resource-loaded CPM scheduling software.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Demonstrated experience in developing and administering organizational processes and systems.
Proven ability to supervise and lead teams.
Experience working with engineering, drafting, and GIS teams is preferred.
Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in office and field environments as required.
May involve lifting and carrying equipment or materials, walking on uneven terrain, and occasional travel to project sites.
