Job Overview The Louisiana Department of Health is looking for a detail-driven professional to lead and coordinate our Human Resources Records Management program. As a trusted expert in this vital role, you’ll oversee the organization, retention, and compliance of essential employee and HR records across the agency. You’ll work independently, partner with key stakeholders, and ensure LDH remains aligned with state, federal, and Civil Service regulations. Experience Requirements

Three years of experience in administrative services; OR

Six years of full‑time work experience in any field; OR

A bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience toward the six years of full‑time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours, which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience.

Job Duties

Ensure the section’s adherence to the approved Records Retention Schedule and coordinate with Legal, and the Secretary of State’s Office if needed, on any proposed revisions.

Oversee and securely maintain a large filesystem, including creating folders for new records, and filing official records timely.

Respond to subpoenas for personnel records by reproducing pertinent records, preparing transmittal correspondence, and ensuring timely delivery to the requesting party.

Verify employment information and work history data on LDH employees as requested by other employers, financial institutions, and local, state and federal agencies by accessing employee records, completing necessary forms/paperwork, and forwarding to appropriate entities.

This position will be filled as a WAE appointment. Please note that WAE appointments are temporary and may last up to a year. Employees can only work a total of 1,245 hours within a 12‑month period.
