Job Overview
The Administrative Services Specialist provides executive level administrative support to VCUHS Vice President(s) or Executive Director(s). The Admin Services Specialist ensures that all administrative assignments are carried out in a professional, timely and confidential manner and that the office operates efficiently and effectively.
The Admin Services Specialist may also provide administrative support to Division Directors/staff and back‑up coverage to other senior level executives as needed.

Experience (Required)
Minimum of four (4) years of previous secretarial/administrative work experience in an office setting
Previous experience with Microsoft Office applications and e‑mail/calendaring
Experience (Preferred)
One (1) year of experience supervising staff
Two (2) years of previous experience performing accounting and/or budgeting functions in a corporate setting
Education/Training (Required)
High School Diploma or equivalent
Education/Training (Preferred)
Associate Degree in Business, Accounting or related field from an accredited program
Independent Action(s) Required All administrative responsibilities are performed independently.
Responsibilities
Communicates and interacts with all levels of internal and external contacts
Oversees operational aspects of office
Coordinates/schedules all meetings and makes related arrangements
Types a variety of documents
Screens and refers calls
Handles purchase requisitions and travel reimbursements, etc.
Supervisory Responsibilities (if applicable)
May supervise assigned staff or interns/students
