PRN Ultrasound Technologist

within our Radiology Department.

Job Summary: Independently, or under the direct supervision of a physician, performs ultrasound procedures consistent with the established standard of medical care in ultrasound, following policies and protocols using established anatomical positioning and physiology to produce optimum sonographic imaging, while keeping patient welfare, confidentiality and comfort a top priority.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

Bachelor of Science degree is preferred, but not required.

One year of ultrasound experience preferred, but not required.

Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology program required.

Registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography in Sonography Principles & Instrumentation (SPI) within 6 months of hire, and Abdomen, OB/GYN, or Vascular within 1 year of hire. Or registered with the ARRT within 1 year of hire.

Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.

Current BLS certification upon hire or BLS certification must be obtained during orientation period or at next available scheduled class. Throughout employment, current BLS certification must be maintained by renewal during renewal period or at next available scheduled class.

Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty (ies) as appropriate.
