GIS QA/QC Specialist (Utilities ArcGIS/ArcMap) W2 ONLY | Hybrid role
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11217
Duration: 6‑month contract with possibility of extensions
Overview Our client, one of the largest energy companies in the United States, is seeking an accomplished GIS QA/QC Specialist (Utilities ArcGIS/ArcMap). The candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship.

Work Schedule: Hybrid (anticipated 3 days onsite, 2 days remote; subject to confirmation).
Interview Process: 2‑step interview – 1 MS Teams, 1 in‑person.
Work Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
Description
Lead the QA/QC of legacy mapping data migrated to an ESRI ArcFM system.
Perform multiple spatial queries to validate the accuracy of mapped data.
Review land‑base symmetry, connectivity at structures, and ensure cable connectivity is intact.
Verify attribute data for all linear and point features of electric and gas components.
Update map symbology and provide solutions as necessary.
Lead testing efforts for vendor deliverables, including factory acceptance, system acceptance, and user acceptance testing.
Advocate for the customer throughout the testing process, ensuring GIS solutions meet user expectations.
Collaborate with development teams to address customer feedback and improve system usability.
Conduct thorough reviews of project documentation related to test plans and execution, offering insights and approvals.
Utilize Azure DevOps or other testing software for effective test planning, execution, and reporting.
Maintain testing documentation and artifacts in testing tools.
Sign off on testing‑related requirements and planning documents, ensuring alignment with project goals.
Assist in other projects as needs arise.
Develop a basic understanding of the mapping systems and the company’s mapping processes.
Learn to read various types of electrical and gas maps.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Strong GIS experience.
At least 2 years of experience using ESRI ArcMap; knowledge of ESRI GIS preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in MXD building, spatial queries, and spatial analysis.
Experience in a utility environment.
Self‑starter with high attentiveness, integrity, energy, initiative, and resourcefulness.
Quick learner who can complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Strong analytical skills, organizational ability, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
