The Opportunity We are collaborating with multiple companies in St. Johns seeking experienced Tooling Engineers. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and modify manufacturing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for tooling failures and performance issues. Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs for all production tooling. Collaborate with production, design, and quality teams to optimize tooling for manufacturing processes. Specify, procure, and manage inventory for new and replacement tooling components. Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for tooling on the production floor. Evaluate and recommend new tooling technologies and materials to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field. Proven experience in tooling design, development, and maintenance within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for tooling design and analysis (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam). Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, stamping, injection molding) and associated tooling. Knowledge of tooling materials, heat treatment, and surface finishes. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot tooling issues, optimize designs, and implement continuous improvements. Bonus Qualifications Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, mold flow analysis). Familiarity with additive manufacturing processes for tooling (e.g., 3D printed inserts, jigs, fixtures). Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification. Proficiency in advanced metrology techniques and software (e.g., GOM Inspect, CMM programming).
