Our Facilities & Property Unit are seeking a Facilities Planning Administrator to join our busy and growing team.
About the role | Ko te mahi nei In this role, you will provide operational support to teams responsible for facilities operations, maintenance, and planning for Council. You will work closely with our project managers, planners and Unit staff to ensure timely capture of relevant information and help our data and decision making.
You'll help maintain and improve our corporate business systems, with a focus on SAP Plant Maintenance and asset‑related data.
Key responsibilities
Supporting contract, project, planning, and financial data for Facilities and Asset Planning.
Inputting and reporting data in SAP PM.
Maintaining the Asset Management Hazard & Risk Register and compliance data.
Coordinating hazard and risk mitigation programmes.
Providing administrative support to the team.
Managing datasets for Facilities assets.
Qualifications and skills To be successful in this role you will need to have good communication skills to assist you in interacting with a wide variety of facility and property professionals and diverse stakeholders. You will have strong practical experience and working knowledge in general administrative functions associated with financial accounting, facility and property data.
A good knowledge and understanding of computer based financial and property systems and how to develop and integrate their usage into best management practices. Attention to detail is key in this role along with the ability to plan and prioritise your work.

Position – Full time, Permanent
Location – This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices – 53 Hereford Street
Salary – The salary band for this position goes from $67,635 to $75,150 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
Closing Date – 27/02/2026
