Multi-Discipline Inspector/Plans Examiner
Location Fort Pierce, FL, USA
Overview Join Bureau Veritas North America as a licensed Multi-Discipline Inspector/Plans Examiner. This role involves interpreting and applying electrical codes and building regulations to conduct building construction inspections and plan reviews. Travel may be required.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills.
Relays technical information to owners, contractors and municipal staff.
Responds to inquiries regarding compliance with electrical codes.
Implements enforcement procedures under client jurisdiction.
Collaborate with client jurisdictions, developers, architects, engineers and contractors.
Coordinate processes, identify issues and resolve conflicts to ensure timely city decisions.
Prepare written work products such as correction notices.
Occasionally perform technical inspections and/or plan reviews for commercial and residential structures.
Participate in discussions concerning code interpretations.
Attend training to improve technical, interpersonal and communication skills.
Respond to inquiries from client jurisdictions and the public.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with city clients and builders.
Analyze complex issues and make timely decisions.
Perform plan reviews for residential and commercial plans for conformance with applicable codes.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager.
Education / Experience
State of Florida Professional Engineer (PE); or
State of Florida Plan Review License (PX) in building, electrical, mechanical, and/or plumbing; or
State of Florida Inspector License (BN) in building, electrical, mechanical, and/or plumbing; or
ICC Residential & Commercial Plans Examiner and/or Inspection certification; or
Possession of the Journeyman M/E/P Certificate and four years of experience as a Journeyman electrician.
Must have knowledge of the Florida Building Code and other regulations pertaining to construction and development.
Ability to understand and interpret codes and evaluate project proposals and projects under construction to verify conformance with code requirements.
