Base pay range $68.40/hr - $123,120.00/hr

This role enables associates to work virtually full‑time, with exceptions for required in‑person training sessions. Candidates must be within a reasonable commuting distance unless accommodations are granted.

Work hours:

8:30 am – 5:00 pm PST

How You Will Make An Impact

Uses screening criteria knowledge and clinical judgment to assess member needs, ensuring access to medically necessary, high‑quality behavioral health care in a cost‑effective setting in accordance with UM Clinical Guidelines and contract.

Refers cases to peer reviewers as appropriate.

Performs psychiatric hyö and substance‑abuse or substance‑abuse disorder assessment coordination, implementation, case planning, monitoring, and evaluation to promote quality member outcomes and optimize member health benefits.

Serves as a resource to other BH Care Managers.

Assists with more complex cases and participates in inter‑ and intradepartmental teams, projects and initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires MA/MS in social work counseling or a related behavioral health field, or a degree in nursing, plus a minimum of 3 years’ experience with facility‑based and/or outpatient psychiatric and substance‑abuse or substance‑abuse disorder treatment; or an equivalent education/experience combination.

Current active, unrestricted license (RN, LCSW, LMHC, LPC, LMFT, or Clinical Psychologist) to practice in California is required.

Previous experience in case management/utilization management with a broad range of complex psychiatric/substance‑abuse cases required.

Prior managed‑care experience required.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences

Experience in case management/utilization management and complex psychiatric/substance‑abuse cases preferred.

Strong Microsoft Office suite experience preferred.

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication, problem‑solving, facilitation, and analytical skills.
