UMEC serves the Arizona market with full mechanical installations including plumbing, piping, process piping, ductwork, and equipment for commercial, institutional, high tech, and industrial clients.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Inspect welds and materials per AWS, ASME, API standards.
Develop and manage welding quality control plans and documentation.
Review WPS, PQR, and WPQ.
Perform visual and non‑destructive testing inspections.
Coordinate with third‑party inspectors and clients.
Maintain welder certifications and inspection records.
Support training and resolve quality issues.
Preferred Education & Experience
Degree in Welding Technology or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in HVAC or piping systems.
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
3–5 years of welding quality control experience in construction.
Knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME IX, API 1104.
Familiarity with NDT methods (RT, UT, MT, PT).
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Additional certifications (e.g., NDT Level II, ASQ).
