About the role | Ko te mahi nei As a Recreation & Sport Planner, you’ll play a key role in planning and delivering our capital programme for the Recreation, Sports and Events Unit.

You’ll also:

Lead the planning and development of the Recreation & Sport capital programme.

Support delivery of capital projects across our diverse network of facilities.

Manage the review and development of plans, policies, and strategies to inform Council’s Long Term and Annual Plans.

Optimise facility performance to achieve Council goals—participation, cost-effectiveness, customer satisfaction, and quality.

Plan and monitor business continuity and emergency management plans for Recreation & Sport Centres.

Experience in facility planning or management within large or complex environments.

Strong project management skills and ability to deliver on challenging business plans.

Excellent planning, time management, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively across teams.

Knowledge of local government processes and asset management principles is an advantage.

Hours of work - Full time

Position - Fixed term 13 months

Location - This position is primarily based at Parakiore Recreation and Sport Centre

Salary - Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.

Closing Date - Monday 19th January
