Position Summary The Lead Technician role blends technical expertise in diagnosing drivability and electrical systems with leadership and mentoring skills to guide a team toward heightened customer care and satisfaction. Pay is a flat‑rate, Beratung‑based model ranging from $21.69 to $38.59 per hour, reflecting regional average productivity.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair to specifications—brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and advanced fuel ignition, electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
Communicate technical diagnoses and needed repairs effectively to non‑mechanical customers.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of rapidly evolving automotive technology through continuous paid formal training.
Assist and train technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities.
Pursue and obtain A.S.E. certifications in at least five of A1–A8 within the first two years; company pays test and registration fees and offers bonuses for each test passed.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid automobile driver's license at all times and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
Proficient in brake diagnosis/repair, alignment, steering & suspension diagnosis/repair, general automotive maintenance & tire repair.
Current federal, state and local certification/license where applicable.
Ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical people.
Reading, writing and math skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong understanding of electrical/electronic systems, engine repair, engine performance, automatic transmission/transaxle, manual drivetrain/transmission, or automotive heating/AC.
5 years of automotive repair experience and evidence of skills via third‑party assessments or completion of a vocational‑technical school program.
A.S.E. certification in at least three of A1–A8 (L1 may be one of the three; brakes and steering & suspension ASEs are preferred).
