Chestnut Hill College invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor position in the Master’s program in Clinical and Counseling Psychology (MCCP), beginning January 2026.

Position Overview

The Assistant Professor will serve as a Co-Coordinator of the field placement training program of students in the Master’s program in Clinical and Counseling Psychology (MCP), advise graduate students, and teach two courses per semester during the fall, spring, and summer terms. One course each semester will be a group supervision course supporting field placement. The second course will be based on the candidate’s expertise and programmatic needs and may include general counseling courses or courses within one or more of the following concentration areas: Assessment and Treatment of Children and Adolescents; Trauma; Co-Occurring Disorders; Diverse and Underserved Communities; and Couple and Family Therapy.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Proven effectiveness in teaching, supervision, and facilitation

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to develop proficiency with electronic tracking systems

Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills

A doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, or a closely related field is preferred. Exceptional candidates holding a master’s degree who meet all other qualifications will be considered. Candidates must be licensed or license-eligible in Pennsylvania, possess relevant clinical experience, and maintain active involvement in clinical practice or consultation. Preference will be given to candidates with training and experience in contemporary psychodynamic and/or systemic approaches, a commitment to culturally informed assessment and treatment, and a demonstrated dedication to social justice.

Field Placement Co-Coordinator Role

This position functions as one of two Field Placement Co-Coordinators. Successful candidates must be able to work collaboratively, communicate transparently, and share responsibilities equitably. Each Co-Coordinator is responsible for fifty percent of the program’s coordination workload.

Responsibilities include:

Preparing materials for and hosting Field Placement Information Sessions.

Addressing post-session ofrecies from students in assigned program concentrations following field placement information sessions.

Coordinating and collaborating with other Chestnut Hill College departments and MCCP advisors as necessary.

Conducting meetings with new or ongoing partner sites, approving new sites as needed.

Creating and sharing student communications regarding site availability, partnership application processes, etc.

Prioritizing site meetings for students in assigned concentrations, and addressing placement-related student concerns.

Managing assigned portions of the Experiential Learning Cloud (ELC) system足球 including entering and inviting students, approving new training sites, linking students with their sites, and auditing forms as needed.

Reviewing and approving training contracts, clearances, and insurance for students in assigned concentrations, and guiding students through required documentation and registration for practicum or internship.

Creating fifty percent of the practicum and internship course sections in ELC each semester and auditing the other fifty percent for accuracy.

Projecting and communicating practicum and internship student numbers for each semester.

Responding to graduate and state board documentation requests for assigned last name ranges.

Communicating with the college’s legal representative regarding special contracts, legal questions, or insurance matters for assigned students.

Maintaining accurate shared logs and program documents.

The ability to partner effectively, manage shared decision making, and maintain consistent processes is essential.
