HVAC Refrigeration Service Technician – Nextech

is a leading commercial HVAC/R service provider with 2,000+ professionals. This role requires experienced technicians ready to troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain HVAC/R systems for commercial clients.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair HVAC/R systems, including electrical, mechanical, and electronic components
Perform maintenance and emergency service as needed, including after‑hours on‑call rotations
Accurately document all service details using company‑provided iPads
Maintain company vehicle, tools, and parts inventory to the highest standards
Communicate clearly with customers and dispatch to ensure smooth scheduling and service delivery
Identify additional service opportunities and share them with customers
Provide the highest level of technical ability, quality, value, and integrity to our customers
Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, cooling, and refrigeration units for commercial customers
Travel to job sites within service area and work with dispatcher to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customers
Be available to work nights or weekends on a rotating basis to service emergency needs
Maintain good working order of company vehicle, equipment, and electronics
Maintain stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle
Document details of services and parts provided to customers electronically through iPad applications
Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain replacement parts, calibrate system per manufacturer’s recommendations, and explain need and value of recommended solutions

Identify and report potential opportunities for additional business (new units/systems, PM contracts, and additional services)
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an HVAC/R field technician
EPA certification and a valid driver’s license
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Ability to read and interpret schematics and work plans
Basic comfort with mobile apps and technology
A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to quality
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed
Physical Requirements
Must be able to safely work at heights using ladders up to 28‑32 feet and operate equipment within manufacturer weight limits
Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver tools and equipment, including extension ladders, up to 100 lbs
Must be able to bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach into confined spaces, and perform twisting, pushing, and pulling tasks
Must maintain physical stamina and endurance for repetitive tasks and extended activity-resolution
Must be able to stand, sit, walk, and climb ladders throughout the day
Must using vision, hearing, and verbal communication continuously
Must operate work‑related equipment such as iPads, cell phones, and computers

Required to follow all applicable safety procedures
