Blackmon Industrial Electric Services is looking for an Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment in an aluminum producing facility, focusing on uptime and safety by working with PLCs, motors, drives, and wiring. This candidate will be key to preventing shutdowns by diagnosing faults in complex systems like automation controls and power distribution, ensuring machinery runs efficiently and meets codes like the NEC.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair:
Perform preventative maintenance and fix faults in electrical systems, including motors, PLCs, circuit breakers, and wiring.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in complex machinery to restore production quickly.
Installation:
Install, examine, and replace electrical components and systems.
Blueprint Reading:
Interpret electrical drawings and schematics to understand equipment layout and function.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all work adheres to electrical codes (like the NEC) and company safety standards.
Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills: 5+ years
Knowledge of AC/DC motors, PLCs, electrical circuits, and control systems.
Tools:
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and potentially welding equipment.
Problem‑Solving:
Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
Education:
High school diploma/GED plus a certificate or degree from a trade school.
Overhead Crane Experience:
The proven ability to troubleshoot and repair overhead cranes is a plus.
