Job Responsibilities

Referral Management: track data on number of referrals, referral types, and monthly available visit types to manage supply and demand. Coordinate and maintain statistical data on calls, dispositions, and participate in performance improvement processes. Gather clinical, medical, and demographic data to determine appropriate referral and level of care, and document information and refer patients to internal or external services in a timely manner.

Customer Service: respond promptly to intake requests and initiate the referral process so that patients are regularly and conveniently served as directed by department management and medical staff.

External Evaluation: triage and evaluate referrals to assess appropriateness and determine options inside or outside CCHMC. Evaluate patient needs versus service availability for outpatient referrals and advocate for the child and family within the hospital and community.

Patient Assessment: assess patient need to determine call urgency. If routine, provide specific referral options; if urgent, transfer to an appropriate clinician.

Customer Service (Payer Relations): develop skills enlighten or managed care interactions, maintain professional relationships with referral sources, authorize outpatient care, and collect benefit information.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field

2 years testimonies adequate working experience in a related discipline

Expected Starting Pay Range: Annualized pay may vary based on FTE status $49,712.00 - $62,150.40
