About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President of Accounting, also known as the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO), to join their dynamic, publicly traded organization. The successful candidate will be a strategic accounting leader responsible for driving enterprise-wide transformation and ensuring the integrity and modernization of the accounting infrastructure. This role involves leading accounting operations, including corporate and financial reporting, and spearheading initiatives focused on centralization, standardization, and automation. The VP of Accounting will also be tasked with ensuring compliance and control, building high-performing teams, and supporting strategic initiatives such as SEC reporting, earnings cycles, and annual audits.

Applicants must have an active CPA license, a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (Master's degree preferred), and at least 15 years of progressive accounting leadership experience, with a significant background in public company settings. Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and SOX compliance is essential, as is a proven track record in leading accounting transformation and automation initiatives. The role requires experience in managing multi-location, inventory-intensive operations, and a background in a Big 4 or national public accounting firm is preferred. The ideal candidate will be adept at supporting M&A activity and post-acquisition integration and will be prepared to work closely with the CFO and other executive leaders on complex accounting matters.
