About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President of Accounting, also known as the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO), to join their dynamic, publicly traded organization. The successful candidate will be a strategic accounting leader responsible for driving enterprise-wide transformation and ensuring the integrity and modernization of the accounting infrastructure. This role involves leading accounting operations, including corporate and financial reporting, and spearheading initiatives focused on centralization, standardization, and automation. The VP of Accounting will also be tasked with ensuring compliance and control, building high-performing teams, and supporting strategic initiatives such as SEC reporting, earnings cycles, and annual audits.
Applicants for the VP of Accounting position at the company must have an active CPA license, a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (Master's degree preferred), and at least 15 years of progressive accounting leadership experience, with a significant background in public company settings. The role requires deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and SOX compliance, as well as a proven track record in leading accounting transformation and automation initiatives. Experience in managing multi-location, inventory-intensive operations is essential, and a background in a Big 4 or national public accounting firm, along with experience in ERP implementations and M&A activity, is highly valued. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly take ownership of the accounting function and drive meaningful change with the support of the CFO and the finance leadership team.
