Job Summary
The Worship Leader is responsible for planning, leading, and facilitating meaningful worship experiences that glorify God and engage the congregation. This role provides spiritual, musical, and organizational leadership to the worship ministry while supporting the overall mission and vision of the church.
Job Responsibilities Plan and lead congregational worship services in alignment with the church’s vision and theology.
Select songs and liturgy that are biblically sound and culturally relevant.
Collaborate with pastors and ministry leaders to align worship with sermon themes and church calendar.
Lead worship rehearsals and services with excellence and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.
Musical Leadership
Lead vocally and/or instrumentally during worship services.
Arrange music as needed to suit the worship team and congregation.
Maintain musical excellence while fostering a spirit of worship rather than performance.
Team Development
Recruit, train, mentor, and shepherd worship team members (vocalists, musicians, tech volunteers).
Schedule and coordinate worship team rotations.
Foster unity, spiritual growth, and accountability within the team.
Model a Christ-centered lifestyle and spiritual maturity.
Encourage spiritual growth and discipleship within the worship team.
Pray regularly for the congregation, church leadership, and worship ministry.
Job Requirements Spiritual & Personal
A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Agreement with the church’s statement of faith and core values.
Strong character, humility, and servant leadership.
Musical & Technical
Proficiency in singing and/or playing a primary instrument.
Ability to lead congregational worship confidently.
Basic understanding of sound, media, and worship technology (or willingness to learn).
Skills
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
Flexibility and openness to feedback.
