Subject Matter Expert (Signaling & Communications) - WMATA

To advance WMATA's signaling and communications modernization, PACO Group is seeking a Signaling & Communications SME. You will lend expert oversight to system-design reviews, integration testing plans, and maintenance protocols-ensuring WMATA's wayside communications and signaling networks meet the latest safety and performance standards.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Review and approve signaling and communications system designs Develop test plans for block systems, interlockings, and fiber-optic networks Advise on reliability-centered maintenance for wayside signals and wayside communications equipment Coordinate with WMATA's System Safety and Engineering teams on compliance issues Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to in-house staff Qualifications
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Communications, or related field 10 years' experience in transit signaling and communications systems In-depth knowledge of IEEE, AREMA, and FRA signaling standards Prior experience with CBTC, PTC, or similar train-control technologies preferred Excellent advisory and training abilities
