We're recruiting on behalf of a growing organization in the
Greater Cleveland, OH area
that's looking for a hands-on
Senior Database Administrator (DBA)
to take charge of performance, reliability, and security across their database environment.
If you enjoy working with Postgres, SQL Server, and open-source platforms-and want to be the go-to expert for database stability-this could be a strong fit. What You'll Be Doing: Administer and optimize relational databases, including Postgres, SQL Server, and open-source platforms Collaborate with developers and IT teams to ensure performance, scalability, and clean data structures Monitor systems, troubleshoot performance issues, and fine-tune queries Manage database backups and run periodic restore tests Assist with patching, upgrades, and version control planning Maintain security protocols and manage user access Help drive IT improvement initiatives and stay current on database technologies What We're Looking For: 5+ years
of experience supporting and maintaining relational databases Strong understanding of Linux/Unix and Microsoft server environments Skilled in performance tuning, capacity planning, and system monitoring Confident communicator who can troubleshoot and collaborate cross-functionally A technical degree is a plus, but proven experience matters more Comfortable being on-call when needed for critical support Occasionally may need to move or set up technical equipment (up to
50 lbs. ) Bonus Points For: Experience with Oracle applications Familiarity with SharePoint, Visio, or similar tools Past contributions to process improvement or IT transformation efforts
