We are seeking a dependable and motivated Cook to join our Food & Nutrition Services team. This role is vital in preparing and serving nutritious, high-quality meals that support the health and well-being of patients, residents, staff, and guests. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment where attention to detail, food safety, and teamwork are top priorities.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook hot and cold meals according to standardized recipes and menu cycles Follow portion control and dietary restrictions to meet patient and resident nutritional needs Ensure strict adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols (e.g., HACCP guidelines) Assist with meal plating, serving, and tray delivery during service times Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant workstation, including equipment and utensils Collaborate with dietitians, dietary aides, and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations Support inventory control by monitoring food supplies and minimizing waste Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent Basic knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and kitchen safety Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a hot kitchen environment Reliable and punctual, with strong teamwork and communication skills Preferred:
1+ year of cooking experience in healthcare, hospitality, or institutional food service Familiarity with therapeutic diets and nutrition guidelines Food Handler’s Certificate or ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
