American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Multi Care ICU unit position requiring current ACLS and BLS certifications and at least two years of ICU experience.Job Details•Work in a Multi Care Unit (MCU) within an acute care hospital setting,•Patient population mixes ICU, progressive care (PCU), and medical-surgical acuities in a 10-bed unit,•ICU ratios are 1:2; PCU 1:4; MST 1:5-6 depending on acuity and nurse aid availability,•Common conditions include sepsis, respiratory failure, suicide attempt, alcohol/drug withdrawal, DKA, and post-op complications,•RNs titrate sedation, vasopressor, and insulin drips,•Ventilator, BiPap, and CPAP use with respiratory therapy support,•Remote monitor techs support telemetry; RNs must take 12-lead EKGs and monitor at bedside for ICU patients,•12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required,•First to float with assignments at EC MST, Pediatrics (adult assignment), or West ICU/PCU; floaters receive two hours' notice,•Uses Cerner for charting; Cerner experience preferred,•Standby required if low census,Job Requirements•Active RN license (state or compact); pending licenses not accepted,•Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,•Minimum two years of ICU experience, or one year ICU plus one year PCU/Med Surg in a large facility with strong skills,•Must titrate drips and manage critical care equipment,•Successful completion of a dysrhythmia exam prior to contract start is required (pass within two attempts),•Must not have worked at any CommonSpirit-associated facility, including CHI or Dignity, in the last 12 months as a full time, part time, or PRN employee,•Must live at least 50 miles from the facility,Additional Information•RNs provide care for ICU, PCU, and MST patients in a single unit without floating between distinct units,•Charge RN oversees 50 inpatient beds including MCU, MST, and Pediatrics,•If nurse aide not available, RNs care for a maximum of three PCU/MST patients as primary nurse,•Attend hospital and unit-specific orientation prior to starting,•Must pass sterile technique testing for Foley and central line care on first day,•Holiday rotation to ensure fair distribution of holiday shifts,•Scrub color may be any except camouflage,•First to float status for travelers,•Returning employees are not eligible if worked directly for any CommonSpirit facility within the past year,),•hash,:•11069276924720778959,
