As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers.
Job Summary: Assist with upkeep of plant property and equipment.
Tools and Equipment used: General hand and power tools, volt-ohm-millimeters, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other testing equipment.

As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers.
Job Summary: Assist with upkeep of plant property and equipment.
Tools and Equipment used: General hand and power tools, volt-ohm-millimeters, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other testing equipment.
Essential Functions: Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards:
- Install, repair, and wire a variety of electrical and electronic equipment and controls related to production and building equipment (including motors, relays, circuit breakers, machine/process controls/circuits, and alarm/communication systems.
- Diagnose problems and replace/repair defective parts.
- Maintain/replace/repair HVAC controls.
- Install wiring, conduit, and switches during remodeling and construction.
- Work scheduled overtime.
- Clean up after each maintenance activity using good housekeeping standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be trained in Arc Flash Standard.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.
- Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
- Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
- Maintain 5 S standards.
- Ear protection in high noise areas, safety belt, gloves, goggles, and other equipment needed to perform the job safely.
Qualifications:
- Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and performing basic math skills in the English language.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, national Electrical Code, instrument measuring, labor/material planning, theory of electronics, and AC/DC and three phase AC power distribution.
- Heavy lifting required.
