Description
Our client, a leader in commercial real estate, is seeking a dependable and skilled Building Engineer to support their team. This onsite role is based in Plymouth, MI and operates Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm . This is a 2-month contract opportunity and pays $30-33 per hour . The ideal candidate brings a strong maintenance background, excellent time management, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. In this hands-on role, you'll handle daily work orders, perform preventative maintenance (PMs) across HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, and ensure the facility remains in top operational condition.
Job Responsibilities:

• Respond to maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner
• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Provide general building operations support and facilities maintenance services
• Maintain detailed service logs and communicate progress to the appropriate personnel
• Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with building regulations
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and building systems issues

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3-4 years of experience in facilities maintenance or building engineering
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Solid maintenance skills across multiple trades
• Strong time management and ability to prioritize tasks effectively

Preferred Certifications & Skills:

• EPA 608 License or NFPA 70E certification (preferred, not required)
• Prior experience with electrical systems
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
