Job Description:
The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the company for patients visiting for routine healthcare or critical diagnostic tests. This role involves skillfully drawing quality blood samples and preparing them for lab testing while ensuring adherence to established safety and procedural standards. PSR IIs work directly with patients to establish trust and ensure a smooth, confident phlebotomy experience. They are expected to exhibit leadership behaviors, process excellence, and respect for patient confidentiality. Assignments may include doctor's offices, patient service centers, or other sites based on business needs.
Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily activities accurately and on schedule under supervision of area supervisor
  • Maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for patients
  • Execute both forensic and clinical specimen collection with precision
  • Verify and confirm patient demographic information and obtain signatures post-venipuncture
  • Accurately label and document all specimens in the presence of the patient
  • Maintain required documentation and adhere to all compliance standards
  • Promote a positive organizational image to patients, peers, and the public
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced setting
  • Work independently with minimal on-site supervision
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime shifts
  • Commitment to company policies, safety standards, and guiding principles
  • Strong decision-making skills with adherence to established procedures
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable)
  • Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with short notice
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a high-volume environment
  • Demonstrated customer service focus, open communication, adaptability, and business acumen
  • Training may take place at varied locations depending on trainer availability
Required Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA
Work Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
  • At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service setting preferred
  • Data entry/keyboard experience required
