About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Compliance Risk to serve as its senior compliance leader. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and enhancement of an enterprise-wide Compliance Management System (CMS) that meets regulatory standards and best practices. This role involves providing strategic oversight of regulatory compliance, governance, and risk alignment across all business units. The VP will lead specialized functions such as BSA, Fair and Responsible Banking, compliance training, regulatory change management, and complaint management. They will also be accountable for ensuring that the organization operates within the law and fosters a culture of responsible growth, innovation, and ethical decision-making.
Candidates for the VP of Compliance Risk position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a JD or Master's degree preferred, and a minimum of 10 years' experience in compliance, risk, legal, or audit within a financial institution. In-depth knowledge of financial services laws and regulations, including BSA/AML, UDAAP, FCRA, ECOA, and NCUA/CFPB expectations, is essential. The role requires a leader with a proven track record in building and leading a comprehensive CMS, experience in interfacing with regulators, and a strong background in compliance program oversight. Professional certifications such as CRCMP, CRCM, CAMS, or CCEP are also necessary. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a champion of innovation, and have the ability to influence business strategy with a risk-aware, member-first focus.
