You will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) while actively participating in the interdisciplinary team of care providers. Key Responsibilities: - Patient Assessment and Care Planning : Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans. Identify patient education needs and collaborate with patients and families to establish care goals. - Documentation and Communication : Provide timely and concise communication of patient statuses during team conferences, ensuring accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record, adhering to policy standards.- Patient Rehabilitation Support : Participate actively in patient rehabilitation programs, utilizing the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate care while prioritizing education and support for patients and families.- Discharge Planning : Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission, providing patient teaching to prepare for the transition and ensuring a seamless continuum of care.- Supervision and Training : Directly supervise, train, and provide support to ancillary nursing personnel, fostering problem-solving techniques and prioritizing task delegation effectively.- Safety and Compliance : Uphold patient and employee safety as a priority, identifying and reporting hazards, and ensuring personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies and procedures.- Team Collaboration : Contribute positively to the unit's functioning by providing calm direction, reassurance, and participating in team-building activities to create an efficient work environment.- Resource Management : Communicate with management about service needs, and monitor supplies and equipment to promote cost-effective patient care while maintaining quality outcomes.- Professional Development : Identify opportunities for personal and professional growth, actively pursuing continuing education and skill enhancement. Qualifications: - Current RN licensure in the relevant state.- BLS Certification required before the first shift.- ACLS Certification required before the first shift.- Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
