Labor & Delivery RN Job Details Job Title: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) - Locum Tenens Location: Tracy, California 95376 Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel nursing contract) Healthcare Setting: Obstetrics Acute OB Unit Start Date: September 8, 2025 End Date: December 8, 2025 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 3 shifts per week Estimated Weekly Hours: 36 Weekend Coverage: Required Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2240 - $2400 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at time of application) BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or American Red Cross) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) provider certification Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in a hospital setting Proficient in caring for newborns and postpartum mothers Epic electronic health record (EHR) experience preferred Two professional nursing references from the past year Ability to complete onboarding requirements, including lab work and e-learning modules Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in an acute OB unit Assist with vaginal deliveries and Cesarean sections Perform and interpret APGAR scores, conduct external fetal monitoring, and triage obstetrical patients Administer medications and therapies, including magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, and antihypertensives Manage pain assessment and interventions, including epidural anesthesia and patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) Provide postpartum care, including fundus, lochia, and perineum assessments Maintain accurate documentation using electronic health records (EHR) Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physical therapy, social services, and phlebotomy Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety standards Take the next step in your nursing career with this high-impact Labor & Delivery RN job in Tracy, California.
