About the Engineer Team Lead position:
The Engineer Team Lead will manage and supervise a team of Engineers within Hazard Mitigation. The selected candidate will prepare construction management work schedules for projects, review project bulletins, and other project documentation to identify work timing and scheduling conflicts. The Engineer Team Lead will also prepare monthly status reports, review project submittals for conformance to contract documents, and update submittal logs. This position will require work with vendors, contractors, as well as counties, to ensure project materials are delivered on time and meet project specifications, record and fille all necessary documents, and obtain/verify all permits for job sites.
The Engineer Team Lead will ensure that all Engineers adhere to governing policies and general statutes, will oversee and assist in the development of quality improvement process with internal and external partners, as well as participate in public meetings to brief project plans and provide clear understanding to public on work requirements. The work completed by the Engineer Team Lead is guided by federal and state laws, policies, and procedures.

The primary purpose of North Carolina Emergency Management (NCEM) is to enhance North Carolina's resiliency through active collaboration, communication, and coordination of efficient and effective preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation of all natural and man-made hazards and threats. About Hazard Mitigation:
The primary mission of the Hazard Mitigation Section (HM) is to deliver and support mitigation activities across the State of North Carolina as guided and authorized under NC General Statute 166A, the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, and other guiding pieces of legislation. The section completes its mission by developing mitigation action plans at the State and local level, managing, and implementing grants provided by FEMA for protection of NC residents and their property; acquiring, managing, and disseminating geospatial data and flood water information; and managing the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP)
for the State.
