Position Summary:
The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests. This role is responsible for warmly greeting guests, managing reservations, seating tables efficiently, and maintaining the overall flow of the dining room. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:Greet all guests warmly and promptly upon arrival.
Manage waitlists and reservations using the designated system (OpenTable).
Guide guests to their tables and provide menus.
Communicate wait times accurately and effectively.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and entrance area.
Monitor the dining room for table availability and coordinate with servers and managers to ensure smooth seating flow.
Answer phone calls professionally and assist with guest inquiries and to-go orders (if applicable).
Handle guest complaints or concerns gracefully and escalate issues when necessary.
Thank guests as they depart and invite them to return.
Support the team during peak periods by assisting with bussing, resetting tables, or other duties as needed.
Previous experience in a customer-facing or host role preferred but not required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Positive attitude and polished, professional demeanor.
Ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly between duties.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
