DevOps Engineer

Role Profile The role is within the Trading Application Services team, part of the Capital Markets Equities Application Services Division. We emphasize small, agile, self-managed teams that prioritize best practices and collective responsibility for quality. Our engineers adopt a "you build it, you run it" mindset, sharing knowledge and removing constraints. The aim of the role is to enhance our ability to plan, engineer, and support Millennium Technologies (MIT) equities exchange systems. This includes evolving the system to meet new requirements, proactively preventing and resolving issues, and providing reactive support in a critical environment. The ideal candidate will have broad skills in DevOps and application support, with in-depth knowledge of the MIT equities platform. The role involves working in a fast-paced, varied, yet balanced and flexible environment, including on-site shifts, 24x7 on-call duties, and weekend testing as per project needs. A significant part of the role is project-based, involving improvements and evolution of MIT application systems, developing operational lifecycle, upgrading systems, and integrating into the operational architecture. The candidate will lead DevOps activities, work on AWS implementations, and CI/CD deployments. Key Responsibilities Contribute technical feedback for re-engineering MIT equities systems, including exchange, surveillance, and price dissemination platforms. Serve as the operations SME for supported MIT equities applications. Create training materials and conduct seminars/workshops on MIT equities support for UK colleagues. Provide Level 2 technical advice and risk assessments based on application, database, and system software knowledge. Perform operational duties such as system monitoring and release deployment. Resolve customer issues effectively, ensuring customer satisfaction. Develop deep understanding of operational processes. Provide Level 2 support for critical trading systems, meeting SLAs. Identify and implement operational improvements to enhance performance and reliability. Experience in developing cloud-native applications. Automate infrastructure provisioning and application deployment. Build CI/CD pipelines for code promotion. Define and implement cloud-native operational requirements. Build on-premise and AWS/cloud-based applications. Follow Service Management and ITSM practices. Promote knowledge sharing with an open and collaborative approach. Requirements: At least 2 years of DevOps experience. Experience with technologies such as Millennium Exchange, Linux, AWS, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Datadog, Moogsoft, Big Panda, Git, Bitbucket, Elastic Search, Bash/PowerShell scripting, Control-M, Jira, Confluence.
