The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Administrative Services, is recruiting for a Systems Programmer 3 located in Juneau! No Cover Letter Required! This position is in the Supervisory Unit (SS) at a Range 23. What You Will Be Doing: The Systems Programmer 3 serves as the lead developer/operations engineer/team manager for the C# Development team at the Alaska Department of Labor & Workforce Development (DOLWD). This position is a Technical Manager: Ensure that processes follow Federal requirements which includes UIPL4-21, IRS, NDNH, SSA development lifecycle. Provide an escalation path for C#, .NET, SQL and ensure code quality and consistency across the team. Supervising and adjusting priorities of staff for competing demands. The Working Environment You Can Expect: This position is located at the Department of Labor and Workforce Development building in Juneau, Alaska; the building is located along the waterfront, next to the Seawalk and Overstreet Park. Standup meetings are held several times per week to facilitate communications and keep staff up-to-date; as a member of the IT team, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with other members of the team. Operating Systems : Knowledge of computer network, desktop, and mainframe operating systems and their applications. Systems Integration : Knowledge of the principles, methods, and procedures for installing, integrating, and optimizing information systems components. Systems Testing and Evaluation : Knowledge of principles, methods, and tools for analyzing and developing systems testing and evaluation procedures and technical characteristics of IT systems, including identifying critical operational issues. Equivalent to those typically gained by: Training in computer science, information technology, system administration, or a similar field and progressively responsible professional experience in database, network, and/or system analysis and system administration. Special Note: Competencies means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation. Typically gained by means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job. Training means the process of acquiring knowledge and skills through instruction.
