Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree from an approved medical school. Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia. Residency Training: Completion of an approved residency program leading to eligibility for board certification. Residency must be approved by the VA or equivalent accreditation. Residents enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited programs are eligible to be appointed as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs), who must be fully licensed physicians and only appointed on an intermittent or fee basis. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Additional Requirement: Board eligibility in Family Practice or Internal Medicine; certification is preferred. Physical Requirements: Pre-employment physical, ability to lift 15-44 pounds, push, reach above shoulder, use fingers and both hands, walk and stand for extended periods, kneel, and have good vision and hearing capabilities. The role involves examining and diagnosing patients, performing procedures, documenting treatments, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, promoting health education, and possibly managerial responsibilities such as workload and staffing planning. The position offers a balanced work schedule (Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm) and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a scenic, community-oriented setting.
