Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Manager
Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the AR/AP Manager oversees the accounting staff and manages the daily activities of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions related to payments and receipts.
Responsibilities
- Hire, train and lead the Accounts Receivable and Payable staff: assist in interviewing and hiring, conduct training, confer regularly with staff to plan and coordinate activities, assign, and review work, assist with difficult or unusual tasks, resolve problems.
- Review metrics, develop and implement process improvement, and proactively manage issues related to vendor and customer accounts
- Set objectives for the accounting team that align with the accounting departments goals
- Negotiate with past due accounts, maintain cash receipts, and recommend referral of accounts to collection agencies as necessary.
- Assist in month end close to include preparing journal entries and performing general ledger account reconciliations and analysis
- Manage workflow to ensure even and accurate distribution of workload to maximize productivity and performance
- Identify, research, and resolve problematic transactions
- Perform account reconciliations as needed to verify accurate information.
- Receive, research and resolve a variety of internal and external inquiries concerning account status including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to the appropriate parties.
- Maintain quality control to ensure accounting transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
- Responsible for reviewing and compiling cash management reports and bank reconciliations
- Prepare schedules and provide documentation for the annual external audit
- Provide routine and ad hoc reports and research to support management
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in accounting or business administration/management
- A minimum of 7 years of experience
- A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Excellent analytical and decision making abilities
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
