What You Will Be Doing
As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the efficient functioning of our accounts payable department. Your attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks will ensure that invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner, contributing to the smooth operation of our financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation prior to approval for payment.
- Prioritize invoices and match with all outgoing checks.
- Follow up and reconcile monthly vendor statements.
- Maintain customer relations to get proper documentation to correctly process payments.
- Assist in processing company bills.
- Process vendor invoices by reviewing, verifying, and coding for proper account allocation.
- Prepare and perform data entry of invoices into the accounting system with high accuracy.
- Reconcile vendor statements to ensure all invoices are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved.
- Communicate with internal departments to obtain necessary approvals and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Prepare and process payments through various methods, such as checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
- Maintain organized and well-documented electronic and physical records of invoices and related documentation.
- Assist with month-end closing tasks, including account reconciliations and accruals.
- Provide outstanding customer service to vendors, responding to inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to identify process improvements and contribute to departmental efficiency.
- Assist in ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the Accounts Payable Manager.
- Requires regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
- Strong general computer skills; Solid Microsoft Excel skills
- Two years experience in Accounts Payable or other finance related role
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associates degree in accounting or finance is a plus.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills
