$24.16 - $36.24 Hourly$50,248 - $75,372 AnnuallyThis position is a Pay Band C6Posting DetailsThe Law Enforcement Records Bureau gathers, analyzes, and disseminates criminal justice data used by New Mexico law enforcement, criminal justice, corrections, courts, and civil agencies to ensure public safety. The bureau maintains complete and accurate records and responds to the needs of the public, law enforcement and criminal justice agencies providing support and customer engagement through our many applications, programs, and services to achieve the mission objectives. Why does the job exist?The NCIC coordinator is responsible for ensuring New Mexico's NCIC program operates efficiently and in compliance with federal standards. The coordinator conducts FBI ORI and NLETS validations, manages and maintains an inventory of active ORls, and oversees offline misuse investigations. A critical component of the position involves the active management of User Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), ensuring all participating agencies adhere to established protocols. Additionally, the coordinator works with vendors to test system functionality and maintain compliance with operational standards. They also provide training and orientation to agencies, offering guidance and support in preparation for triennial FBI/NCIC audits. By performing these duties, the coordinator ensures the integrity, security, and compliance of criminal justice information across New Mexico. How does it get done?1. Compliance Management (30%): Ensure records processing, maintenance, and dissemination comply with federal and state statutory requirements, overseeing quality control of NCIC information systems for DPS as the control terminal agency.2. Training and Education (25%): Provide in-depth cross-training and education to law enforcement agencies, ensuring they understand NCIC protocols and maintain operational compliance.3. Reporting and Support (20%): Generate and compile criminal history reports, provide National Crime Information Center services to statutorily required applicants, and offer after-hours support for agencies when necessary.4. Auditing and Verification (25%): Conduct audits of all participating agencies in accordance with state and federal guidelines/policies, ensuring the accuracy and currency of information by facilitating verification between inquiring and entering agencies. Ideal CandidateBachelor's Degree in Business Administration and two (2) years of experience. Any combination of university education and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.1. Thorough understanding of law, court procedures, court systems, and rules of the assigned jurisdiction.2. Exceptional research, planning, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.3. Excellent presentation, collaboration, and verbal and written communication skills.4. In-depth criminal justice knowledge regarding best practices, policies, current regulations, and technology. 5. Excellent work ethic. Minimum QualificationAssociate Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Accounting and one (1) year of directly related job experience in the areas of office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, contract management, and/or in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Working ConditionsWork is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage with extended periods of sitting.
