About the Firm:
Our client, a Top 100 CPA firm with a strong presence in Tulsa and over 500 employees nationwide, seeks a Tax Manager to lead their Tax Advisory Team. This role provides the opportunity to oversee complex, high-profile engagements for corporate and high-net-worth clients across Manufacturing, Healthcare, Real Estate, and other industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals (revenues exceeding $50 million).
- Develop and implement advanced tax-planning strategies, financial models, budgets, and forecasts to optimise client tax positions.
- Serve as a primary advisor to C-suite executives and finance teams, presenting complex tax insights in clear, actionable terms.
- Supervise, mentor, and review work performed by senior and staff accountants, ensuring technical accuracy and adherence to firm standards.
- Coordinate multi-state and multi-jurisdictional compliance, including apportionment studies, nexus analyses, and local filings.
- Conduct ongoing research on federal and state tax law changes; assess their impact on client engagements and proactively advise clients.
- Oversee special projects such as M&A due diligence, tax structuring, and internal process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of six years of public accounting experience, with at least three years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP and federal/state tax regulations.
- Proficiency in advanced tax research tools and software (e.g., CCH, RIA Checkpoint, UltraTax).
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex tax scenarios.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to present to executive-level audiences and coach junior staff.
- CPA license in good standing or CPA-eligible.
