Imperial Calcasieu Human Services Authority (ImCal HSA) exists so that citizens with mental health, addictions, and developmental challenges residing in the parishes of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, and Jefferson Davis are empowered, and self-determination is valued such that individuals live a satisfying, hopeful, and contributing life. We're looking for a Professional Counselor to join our Behavioral Health Division. Our Behavioral Health Services division provides comprehensive and coordinated outpatient services to individuals with mental illness and/or an addictive disorder (alcohol, drugs, gambling) for both adults and children. Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) or a Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (PLMFT). Job Specification

Job Duties: In this role, you will: Provide individual, family, and group counseling/therapy to children, adolescents, and adults with mental health and substance use disorders based on individualized treatment plans. Use evidenced based practices and an integrated treatment models to treat/counsel individuals served toward achieving their identified goals. Serve as a liaison and coordinator between the individual served, their family, and other agencies/providers. Conduct comprehensive psycho-social assessments which result in accurate diagnoses and functional/interpretive summaries Develop appropriate in-depth, individualized, time-oriented goals and objectives during the treatment planning process and create safety plans for those at greater risk of harm. Determine situational and/or supportive counseling/therapy needs and identify the strengths and vulnerabilities of the individuals served, which may have clinical significance in the therapeutic intervention. Collaborate with the treating psychiatric provider and multi-disciplinary team to facilitate care. Provide crisis screening, assessment, and intervention to individuals who are at an increased risk of harm. This includes collaboration with the psychiatrist or other prescribing provider, and the family, with linkage to higher-level care, such as hospital emergency departments, inpatient substance use disorder treatment facilities, or other social/community services. Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday. Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
