Cheer Program Coordinator
Responsible for assisting the director of the spirit program with coordinating activities, game management and production of cheer activities at various athletic and University events. Essential Functions: Assists the director and head cheer coach with preparation of the dance team to perform at all football, men's basketball, women's basketball and selected other games. Includes coordinating the cheer team's role in time-outs, half-time and pre-game, game management and collaboration with the band. Assists the director and head cheer coach with scheduling, organizing and conducting dance team tryouts, and the selections of the dance team squads. Secures practice locations, schedules and supervises daily practice sessions, and assists in choreographing dances. Serves as contact person for dancers should the director not be available. Assists the director and head cheer coach with team travel logistics. Serves as chaperone during travel. Assists with public relations activities through involvement in community, University, and student organizations. Provide updates for the program website as needed. Follow all University, ACC, and NCAA rules and regulations. Ability to travel and work weekends and evening hours. Other Functions: Perform other duties as assigned. Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Bachelor's degree 1-3 years experience either coaching or participating in a dance team Able to perform full range of activities related to dance Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing CPR/AED/First Aid Certified Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information Valid driver's license Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Strong focus on customer service.
