Which is why we're thrilled to be adding a Federal Business Development Director (Security Clearance) to our team. In this role, you'll be identifying, qualifying, and closing new federal business opportunities in alignment with the company capabilities and growth strategy.Here's what you'll be working on: Identifying and qualifying new federal business opportunities in alignment with company capabilities and growth strategy.Building and maintaining strong relationships with federal agency stakeholders, system integrators, and teaming partners.Leading capture and proposal efforts in coordination with internal technical and operational teams.Monitoring government procurement portals (e.g., SAM.gov, SBIR.gov, etc.) and industry forecasts to proactively position for upcoming opportunities.Representing the company at federal contracting and industry events, conferences, and meetings.Maintaining accurate and current pipeline data in CRM systems and provide regular opportunity and forecast updates to leadership.Collaborating cross-functionally to shape offerings, pricing strategies, and win themes based on customer requirements.Staying current on federal contracting trends, acquisition regulations, and market shifts affecting target agencies.Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience: Active U.S. government security clearance (Secret required; Top Secret highly preferred)10+ years of experience in federal business development, sales, or capture managementProven success identifying, qualifying, and winning federal contractsStrong knowledge of federal acquisition processes and government procurement lifecyclesDemonstrated ability to cultivate relationships with federal customers and industry partnersExperience supporting capture strategies and teaming agreements for proposals and bidsExcellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skillsProficiency with CRM tools and federal procurement platformsEstablished network within DoD, SOCOM, intelligence community, and/or ISRMust be based in or able to work from the Washington, DC metro areaMust be permanently eligible to work in the United States without sponsorshipDesired Skills, Knowledge, and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business, Political Science, Public Policy, or a related fieldPrior experience with SBIR/STTR, OTA, or other non-traditional acquisition pathwaysFamiliarity with AI, data analytics, geospatial technologies, or national security-related servicesExperience working with early-stage or high-growth technology companies selling into governmentStrong understanding of compliance requirements and security-related constraints in federal engagements
