Job Title: COBOL Mainframe Programmer VI
Location: Candidate MUST be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role at their own expense. Local candidates preferred. This position is currently remote. However, position status is subject to change. (90% remote 10% onsite as needed) Onsite work is not likely, but candidate should be prepared to come onsite if required.

This role involves maintaining online and batch application programs through reviewing, analyzing, coding, testing, and debugging application code, as well as developing specifications, diagrams, flowcharts, and technical documentation.
The CMP6 will contribute to the enhancement of existing applications and development of new functionality using COBOL, DB2, XML, and JCL. They will also be responsible for implementing application changes and providing post-implementation support. Familiarity with .NET, C#, and SQL Server is beneficial.
Position Summary:
This position offers the opportunity to work in a team-oriented environment to develop and enhance mainframe applications for the DCF CARES system. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise in maintaining and enhancing mainframe applications.
- Analyze system requirements and design, code, test, and implement solutions using COBOL, DB2, JCL, and XML.
- Develop process documentation, specifications, and system diagrams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analysts, quality assurance, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
- Conduct code reviews and participate in testing activities.
- Maintain technical documentation, including database models and architecture diagrams.
- Ensure performance optimization, adherence to security best practices, and compliance with development standards.
- Offer post-production support and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in planning and prioritization of project tasks with team leads and management.
- Selected candidates may be required to submit proof of certifications during the hiring process.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and experience working in complex technical environments.
