Senior Architects to serve as technical leads (TLs) for assigned projects in major military program areas. National level high priority projects in support of military readiness and the warfighter. Applies substantial professional knowledge and specialized project experience to plan and coordinate the interdisciplinary design efforts of engineering resources. Facilitates the execution of these design efforts within established project delivery milestones by working with a project team to prioritize effort, resolve conflicts, and manage risk and change. Assures engineering product quality by ensuring quality control activities are planned, accomplished, and documented by responsible parties per the agency's policy. Works closely with Project Managers on large and/or complex military projects in planning, design, or construction phases. Other Conditions And Requirements This job opportunity is open to CURRENT, PERMANENT USACE EMPLOYEES ONLY who are seeking a lateral reassignment opportunities. This opportunity is being announced through the USACE Voluntary Internal Opportunities Program (VIOP). Current, permanent USACE employees with noncompetitive eligibility to be placed in this position are eligible to apply. This Program may only be utilized for noncompetitive placements, to include voluntary reassignments, promotions not-to-exceed 120 days, voluntary changes to lower grade, details, and deployment opportunities. Employees interested in permanent or temporary promotions longer than 120 days must apply through USAJOBS, or other approved merit procedures or hiring authorities. Temporary or term employees and Department of Army Fellows assigned to USACE will not be considered for positions or assignments through VIOP. Minimum Education Requirement: Minimum Experience Requirement: One year equivalent to GS-12 grade level assisting with planning and coordinating the interdisciplinary design efforts of engineering resources. This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time. The incumbent is may require incumbent to file an OGE Form 450, Financial Disclosure Report upon entering on duty in this position and annually thereafter. Hiring incentives such as a relocation bonus may be authorized (subject to available budget). Relocation (PCS) expenses may be authorized (subject to available budget) if the selecting official determines the relocation is in the best interests of the government. This position requires the following training/certifications prior to employment or within a specified period of time after appointment. Professional Registration as an Architect (RA) The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess and maintain license/registration as a Professional Registered Architect.
