Role Overview The Sr. Manager, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) will lead the design, implementation, and management of the DLP program, ensuring the protection of sensitive financial data across endpoints, networks, and cloud environments. Reporting to the Director of Cybersecurity Engineering & Operations, this role manages a team of DLP engineers and analysts, oversees platform operations, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to align data protection strategies with business objectives and regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, Korean SOX, FFIEC).
Key Responsibilities
DLP Program Strategy and Leadership:
Lead end-to-end management of the DLP program, including strategy, policy development, and solution implementation.
Develop and execute a multi-year DLP strategy aligned with organizational goals and industry trends.
Manage and mentor DLP team members, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Collaborate with IT, Legal, and business units to integrate security into digital initiatives.
Present strategies, risks, and metrics to leadership, translating technical details into business impacts.
DLP Platform Operations:
Define and enforce DLP policies for email, web, cloud, and endpoints, tailored to financial data.
Implement and maintain data classification and tagging systems.
Oversee real-time monitoring and incident response, managing DLP tools and integrations.
Deploy DLP controls across endpoints and cloud platforms.
Establish KPIs to measure program effectiveness and compliance.
Technical Innovation and Automation:
Drive automation of DLP processes using scripting languages.
Leverage AI analytics for threat detection and prevention.
Ensure seamless tool integration with IAM, SIEM, and financial systems.
Continuously optimize DLP tools and configurations.
Conduct regular assessments for program improvement.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure practices meet financial regulations through policy enforcement and audits.
Conduct data risk assessments and manage vendor relationships.
Develop and maintain DLP policies aligned with industry standards.
Team Management and Development:
Lead and mentor the DLP team, fostering innovation and accountability.
Qualifications
Minimum 8 years in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years in leadership overseeing DLP or data security.
3+ years in financial services, familiar with financial data threats and regulations.
Hands-on experience with enterprise DLP platforms (e.g., Symantec, Microsoft Purview).
Proven success in implementing data classification, policy enforcement, and incident response.
Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields; advanced degree preferred.
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA; DLP-specific certifications are a plus.
Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT).
Deep DLP expertise and ability to innovate in data security and compliance.
Proficiency in cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud).
Strong skills in SIEM, data analytics, scripting, and financial system security.
Preferred Skills
Experience with AI-driven analytics and behavioral analysis tools.
Knowledge of IAM integration, DevSecOps, and secure SDLC.
Experience managing MSSP relationships and emerging DLP trends.
Work Environment Office setting with extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking. Vision monitoring and noise level considerations.
Compensation Salary range: $140,500 - $217,800, based on skills, experience, and location.
