The IRC in Tallahassee office was established in 2015 and has resettled over 2,000 refugees from 50 countries into Big Bend communities. This internship is located within the Resource Development Department, whose purpose is to establish strong, mutually-beneficial connections between the community and the IRC in Tallahassee, Miami and Atlanta in order to garner monetary, in-kind and volunteer resources for clients. The Development & Volunteer Intern will work closely with the Volunteer Specialist towards these goals in order to enhance the IRC's ability to meet client needs. This position requires a minimum commitment of 15 hours a week for at least three months. The hours for this position are flexible; however, will primarily be between 9AM and 5PM on weekdays, with occasional weekend activities. Please note that all internship positions are unpaid. Accepting Tallahassee-based candidates only. Responsibilities: Help recruit volunteers, interns, and Americorps members; Support in producing high quality external and intern communications, including emails, social media posts, and flyers. Assist Volunteer Specialist in maintaining accurate, up-to-date data across pertinent databases; Record and analyze program data pertaining to volunteers, interns, and Americorps members; Compile and post volunteer and intern descriptions as needed; Provide direct service to clients as needed by the Resource Development team; Assist with Resource Development needs including community engagement, external communications, event planning, and fundraising; Attend community, networking, and recruitment events with Resource Development staff; Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and special staff development programs.
