Organization: SHSO-Administrative Payroll Position Overview: The Chief Pharmacy Officer is a highly visible, system-level position with accountability to lead, direct and execute Sutter's pharmacy strategic plan. The role oversees the management and operations over the $1 Billion+ health-system pharmaceutical supply chain business, and the standardization of the clinical, operational and logistics services at the inpatient, home infusion, outpatient infusion, and all ambulatory sites. The Chief Pharmacy Officer also ensures that pharmaceutical services are provided to patients with a consistently high level of safety, quality, cost effectiveness and customer service. The Chief Pharmacy Officer also leads the system P&T committee to develop a standardized formulary for the organization, as well as identification of safety and clinical effectiveness opportunities. The incumbent also serves as the leader/sponsor for system-wide pharmacy initiatives including standardization of logistics, operations, clinical and safety programs. Job Description: Education/Certification/Licensure: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required. Masters of Business or Healthcare Administration preferred. CA Board eligible at the time of hire. CA Licensure to be obtained within 12 months of start date. Experience: A minimum of 10 plus years experience overseeing multiple inpatient/ambulatory pharmacy operations across multiple sites of care. Experience in a health system integrating services across multiple sites. Experience with providing clinical skills to appreciate the implementation of these services. Experience with distribution of medications, to understand the issues related to the distribution of medications. Experience working in a healthcare system with multiple hospitals and medical groups. Knowledge: Mastery of state and federal laws associated with pharmacy operations including drug diversion prevention and reporting. Thorough understanding of 340b program laws and processes. Skills: Good interpersonal skills, to deal with a wide variety of individuals. Demonstrated self-directed, results-oriented, creative approach to projects. Significant knowledge and experience in CQI principles. Demonstrated leadership abilities and management skills. Ability to succeed in changing environment and handle multiple responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to problem solve and team building skills. High aptitude for information and decision support systems. Outstanding oral and written communication skills. Significant experience in group process and facilitation. The primary office location of this position will be in Sacramento or Emeryville, California.
